5 Things That You Can’t Get Away With In Vegas

A lot of people may think of Las Vegas as the city where you can get away with anything. As the old saying goes, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” However, this isn’t entirely true. Even though Vegas may be a place where excess is encouraged, there are some things you can’t get away with.

Don’t even think about pleading ignorance of the law, either, because it won’t be accepted as a reasonable excuse. Before you find yourself behind bars, take a look at some of the no-no’s you can’t get away with even in the city of sin.

Drinking and Driving

In Las Vegas, drinking and driving laws are strictly enforced. If you are caught driving under the influence of alcohol, you’ll find yourself in jail, charged with hefty fines, and will likely have to hire a lawyer, same as anywhere else.

If you’re drunk, catch a cab instead and save yourself the trouble. Not only will you save your own life, but other people on the road.

Prostitution

Nevada is the only state in the United States which allows prostitution. However, prostitution isn’t legal in every part of Nevada, including Vegas!

You may see flyers or advertisements featuring sexual services; however, these are not legal. If you are a victim of crime by these services, the police aren’t likely going to help you.

Underage Gambling

While you don’t have to be a certain age to step into a casino, you have to be of age to gamble. The gambling age? 21 years old! Since casinos can get hit with huge fines for minors gambling, they are incredibly strict about checking ID.

Don’t even think about trying to use a fake or expired ID. If you’re caught, you’ll be kicked out or even arrested!

Underage Drinking

The same rule for gambling applies to drinking. You must be 21 years old to purchase and consume alcohol. If you’re planning on going to Vegas for your 21st birthday, you’ll need to be 21 past midnight to be accepted into a bar or purchase booze.

If anyone over 21 is found purchasing alcohol for a minor, they will be charged and potentially arrested.

Illegal Drugs

Any illegal drugs are still illegal in Vegas, and celebrities aren’t exempt. Regardless of who you are, drugs are not tolerated. If you are found in possession of drugs, it is considered a felony.

Not only will you find your vacation ruined by committing one or several of these mistakes, but you’ll probably find yourself serving jail time. It’s not worth staining your permanent record forever. Do yourself a favor and follow the rules when you visit Vegas!
