If you’re planning to visit Thailand, you can’t head back home without seeing its coastal regions. One of the islands you can’t afford to miss is Phuket. It’s one of the most famous destinations around the world. From its pristine beaches to the scenic attractions, Phuket has a lot to offer.

It makes sense if you fly to Bangkok first if you come from other countries. There are lots of flights available heading to Bangkok. You can stay for a few days in the city and discover its beauty – go to temples, floating markets, night markets, museums, and many others. Once you get tired of touring Bangkok, you can decide to visit Phuket for a few relaxing days at the beach.

It’s also crucial to discover the best way to get from Bangkok to Phuket for your convenience.

Plane

The easiest way to go to Phuket from Bangkok is by plane. There are several airlines to choose from, including Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Airways. You can even purchase tickets right at the airport. Round-trip tickets are as cheap as $45. Even if your flight back to your home city is through Bangkok, you won’t mind flying to Phuket. The plane trip takes about an hour and twenty minutes only.

Train

There’s a train that connects Bangkok with the southern cities of Thailand. The problem is that it takes a while for you to get there. You need to get on board a train at the Hua Lamphong station in Bangkok. It’s an old railway station connecting most of Thailand. You can take the train to Surat Thani and catch a bus from there. The train ride is about 8 hours, and the bus journey would be another 5 hours. The trip costs around $40 for both train and bus. There’s a first-class sleeper on the train if you prefer to be more comfortable.

Given the length of time and the price, which is quite close to airline tickets, many people prefer flying. However, if your goal is to see the beautiful attractions along the way, it’s a good option for you.

Bus

You can take a long bus ride from Bangkok all the way to Phuket. It takes about 16 hours. It saves a lot of money, but it’s not going to be the most comfortable choice. If you’re in a hurry, it’s a better option than taking a train and catching a bus. The good thing is that there are air-conditioned buses available. These private options are way more comfortable but cost around $20. Check the reviews of a specific bus company first to determine if it’s worth the price.

Private car

If you want to feel comfortable until you reach Phuket, you can hire a private driver. It would cost you around $370, inclusive of all the expenses. However, you won’t be in the middle of the crowd. It’s a clean and relaxed ride.

You can decide which of these options would be suitable for you and have a blast on your trip.
